“We can sign in winter and we will sign in summer”

The fence on Ferran Torres tightens. FC Barcelona, ​​through its CEO, Ferran Reverter, announced that, contrary to what was supposed, the Blaugrana club has the capacity to undertake recruitment operations in this winter market: “Obviously Barça will be able to sign. In winter and in summer. We will have to take a good look at how we do it. And we will be able to renew Dembélé ”, assured Barcelona’s top executive.

The CEO of the club made these statements during the presentation of the telematic referendum for the approval of the financing of Espai Barça, which should be held on December 19.

Reverter, who was in Manchester last week accompanied by the entity’s director of football, Mateu Alemany, did not want to confirm that the Manchester City player Ferran Torres is the main target, but acknowledged that “We are always open to different operations in the market. When it opens, Barcelona will be there ”.

In this sense, the Blaugrana executive did not close the door for the club to join the investment fund operation CVC that could give oxygen to the Catalan entity to undertake signings. Reverter stated that “we are willing to look at the agreement offered by CVC, but not as it was proposing. They are also looking at it and if there is a new proposal we will study it ”.

Another investment avenue for Barcelona would be the renegotiation of the sponsorship contract for the shirt. At the end of this season, the contract with the Rakuten company ends and Reverter announced that “We are negotiating with Rakuten, we have a very good relationship with them, and we also have other candidates for both the title rights and the jersey.” Regarding the title rights of the stadium, he added that “we have progressed and made more concrete. There are less than five options because we have already been discarding some. It is good news ”.
