Wales gets the last ticket to Qatar

BARCELONA, 5 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Welsh national team won the last European ticket to play the World Cup in Qatar on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Ukraine in the playoff final at Cardiff City Stadium, with an own goal by Ukrainian captain Andriy Yarmolenko.

The Welsh venue enjoyed the victory of Gareht Bale and company and the ticket to the World Cup that begins on November 21. Precisely, the locals went ahead after half an hour thanks to a cross from the now ex-Madridista, who ended up touching the Ukraine captain, Andriy Yarmolenko, with his head to involuntarily deflect the ball into the net.

In the second half, Burnley goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was the Welsh hero avoiding greater evils for his team with the Ukrainians’ constant internments, including Yaremchuk’s double chance, which the goalkeeper kicked out.

With the score against, Ukraine moved the bench in search of the long-awaited goal to tie the final of the ‘playoff’, but the unwavering solidity of the Welsh was a jug of cold water for the visitors, who were left on the verge of giving a joy to his people in the midst of the Russian warlike invasion.

In this way, Wales managed to certify their pass to the Qatar 2022 World Cup, after knocking out Austria in March (2-1) and now Ukraine (1-0), so England, Iran and the United States are already waiting for them in Group B.
