Villarreal wants to emerge against Young Boys
MADRID, 1 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Villarreal CF receives this Tuesday at the Estadio de la Cerámica the Swiss Young Boys on the fourth day of the group stage of the Champions League with the intention of giving a better image compared to what was seen in LaLiga Santander and getting closer to the classification for the round of 16.
Villarreal is not well in the domestic competition, with four consecutive days without knowing the victory and with a last defeat in the Valencian derby against Valencia CF, in Mestalla (2-0), which worsened the situation and left the ‘Yellow Submarine ‘4 points from the descent.
The image in the ‘Champions’ is different, almost opposite, and showing it again against the Young Boys could leave Unai Emery’s men much closer to the goal of staying alive in the competition. With 4 points, the same as Atalanta and one more than the Swiss, and with Manchester United leading with 6 points, the group is very tight.
Anything can happen in this evenly matched Group F, and Villarreal cannot miss the opportunity to score three points in front of their audience that would put the Young Boys far away. Winning will be almost synonymous with burying the Swiss and will allow the people of Castellón to face the last two days with a margin of error.
And, above all, confidence. It is what Emery seeks to infect his players, who are touched. In fact, in the previous one, the Spanish international Yéremy acknowledged that they are “screwed” with the domestic bad streak and that they want to turn the page in Europe.
The ‘Submarine’ wants to leave the abyss, get out of the bad current and emerge in continental waters with a message of optimism and power. All of this is possible, and they know how to do it as they beat the Young Boys with a clear 1-4 at Stadion Wankdorf in Bern in the first leg.
Then, Villarreal released its record of triumphs and set the course after the draw with Atalanta and the undeserved defeat against United with goals from Yéremy, Gerard Moreno, Alberto Moreno and Samu Chukwueze.
Now, Emery will not be able to count on Gerard Moreno, nor on Foyth in defense, and although Yéremi Pino is warned of a sanction he could play at the tip of the spear alongside Paco Alcácer, who is in good shape in this ‘Champions’ with his goal at Old Trafford.
