The ‘submarine’ beat Valladolid (0-3) and the ‘perico’ team tied Celta (2-2)
MADRID, 13 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Villarreal beat Real Valladolid (0-3) this Saturday in the first day of LaLiga Santander, a great start for one of the contenders to be on top, while Espanyol drew a draw (2-2) in the final stretch against Celtic RC.
The yellow ‘submarine’ added the first three points with the intention of not having the deficit in the table that dragged last year. A double, the second a great goal, by Álex Baena, with half an hour in the field to ask for a place on the return home, knocked down a Valladolid with a lot of work behind and little option up.
Nine years later, Villarreal won their first game of the season and did so comfortably at the José Zorrilla. The return to the highest category of Pacheta’s men was not easy, overwhelmed at the start by the pressure of the rival. He did not have many chances for the visiting team either, the clearest being Gerard Moreno in a corner kick. The restart brought a more incisive Villarreal if possible and Jackson made it 0-1 due to a mistake by Joaquín.
Valladolid had no choice but to go up but, when it seemed to make the rival doubt, Baena’s sentence came, first with placement and smoothness from the edge and then bursting the ball to the top corner. The first goals in the First Division of the player from Almeria who helped Girona in their promotion last year put Emery’s men on the right track to start. Pucela has to improve.
Meanwhile, on a day of debuts with goals in Balaídos, Espanyol’s men left happier after seeing the game very uphill with 2-0 with 20 minutes remaining. Not only the score, but the local dominance, Celta seemed to give all the ballots.
‘Chacho’ Coudet’s team took the lead just before the break through Iago Aspas, who had been plugged in with the goal of the preseason. An even first half but a prize for the locals, who took advantage of that inertia to command the second.
In his football control, a good play ended with a header by Paciencia, the 2-0 work of the Portuguese in his debut in the Spanish league. Balaídos lived their party in a comfortable way when in minute 72, Edu Expósito made it 2-1 after a poor clearance by Aidoo. That was the beginning of the resurgence ‘made in’ Diego Martínez of the Catalans.
The debut with the ‘perica’ shirt was also sweet and with a goal for Joselu. The striker, ex Celta among others, signed the maximum penalty in the 98th minute that meant the final 2-2. Mingueza, transferred to the Galicians by FC Barcelona, jumped in at 92′ to secure the result, but committed the penalty that the referee reviewed in the VAR and soured the start of Vigo.
