Last May, already waiting for the premiere of Megalopolis At the Cannes Film Festival, it was revealed that the director of the film, Francis Ford Coppolahad allegedly behaved inappropriately with some of the actresses on the project. This Saturday, the blow to the filmmaker became real: videos of the director trying to kiss several women on the set of the filming came to light.
According to Variety, there are two videos in particular, filmed by a member of the crew, where Coppola appears in an overwrought attitude while filming a sex scene in a nightclub, telling them that “I was trying to put them in the mood”. This scene, starring Nathalie Emmanuel, was filmed on February 14, 2023 at the Atlanta Tabernacle.
Furthermore, the scene in question brought together between 150 and 200 people, and the filmmaker apparently kept kissing several of the women in the extras, ruining some shots. He even went so far as to say: “Forgive me if I come closer to you and kiss you. Just know that it is only for my pleasure.”.
It is not known why the coordinators of the intimate scenes, Samantha McDonald and Ashley Anderson, were not on the set. However, since Coppola financed the entire $120 million budget, the responsibility falls solely on her.
A new video of Francis Ford Coppola grabbing and kissing female extras on the set of ‘MEGALOPOLIS’ has surfaced online.
He reportedly announced with a microphone to the entire set, “Sorry, if I come up to you and kiss you. Just know it’s solely for my pleasure.”
