Verdasco yields to Coria and says goodbye to Rio after more than three hours of play

MADRID, 17 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Fernando Verdasco said goodbye to the tournament in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), scoring for the ATP and which is played on clay, after losing in the round of 16 this Wednesday against the Argentine Fernando Coria (7-6 (2) , 4-6 and 6-4) in a game that lasted three minutes longer than three hours.

The 38-year-old from Madrid, who was having a great week on Brazilian soil, got up in the second set to even the match, but a loss of service in the ninth game of the third round ended up condemning his presence in the quarterfinals, where Coria is already waiting for the winner of the Fabio Fognini-Pablo Carreño.
