The Uruguayan midfielder Fede Valverde reached an agreement this Thursday with Real Madrid to extend his contract as a Real Madrid player until June 30, 2029, according to a statement from the merengue entity.
“Real Madrid CF and Fede Valverde have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which remains linked to the club until June 30, 2029,” the Madrid club reported on its website about the future of the 25-year-old player, who will remain linked to the entity for the next five seasons.
Valverde arrived at Real Madrid in July 2016, at just 18 years old, participating in his first season with the white reserve team, and later, in 2017-2018, he played on loan at RC Deportivo. In the following campaign he became part of the Merengue club’s first team, in which he has already spent six seasons, becoming “one of the best midfielders in the world,” according to the statement.
He has played 220 games as a Real Madrid player, in which he has scored 19 goals and won 9 titles: a Champions League, two Club World Cups, a European Super Cup, two Leagues, a Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.
The Uruguayan’s contract extension is announced in a few weeks in which the white club has also ‘shielded’ other young people such as Vinícius Júnior, until 2027; Rodrygo Goes, until 2028; and Eduardo Camavinga, until 2029.
