The director of the Cabinet of the Presidency of Real Valladolid, David Spinar, After the controversy caused by the change of the club’s shield, he has indicated to Efe that It will remain “since it obeys a renewal process of the image and the brand that will be beneficial for the entity, to continue growing”.
In this sense, he explained that the modification is the result of more than two years of work with Futurbrand and the club’s business area, which has been carried out “in good faith and always with the interests of Real Valladolid in mind” and which also “fans and subscribers” were consulted.
He considers it “understandable and logical” that there is “discomfort” among the blanquivioletas followers and “they are in his right to feel bad and to show his anger”, but he insists that “it does not obey any whim” but that it is “the fruit of the work of many people, who have taken into account all the details when making the change”.
For this reason, it has been decided that the coat of arms contain “the flames, the crown -which gives it the name Royal- and the colours”, because they are the elements that “they have always been part of it”while the laureate and the castles “have not remained immovable over time”.
Precisely the fact that the symbol of the laureatewhich has been the one that has provoked the most debate between fans and blanquivioletas followers, “in no way is it a political issuesince Real Valladolid is apolitical and has not suffered no pressuren in this regard, by the institutions”.
Hence, he considers that this issue “is out of the controversyca”, although it is true that some opinions on social networks have not benefited the club, such as the one made by Izquierda Unida, expressing its praise for the suppression of a symbol that they consider “Francoist“.
“It is clear that every decision has a response, both for and against, and congratulations have also arrived Regarding the change of the shield. It has not been carried out for an economic purpose or to do business, but within the process of renewing the brand and, of course, it does not respond to a political issue,” he insisted.
In line with this aspect, he highlighted the fact of “having to adapt to new digital and social media formats“, for which a simpler shield is more appropriate, that is, “different areas” have been studied to modify the shield and adapt it to a new reality.
Although the followers have requested, through social networks, that nobody buys any product with the new shield, the truth is that this circumstance “will not influence the decision made” since they consider that “in the medium term” everyone “will be able to enjoy” it, and it will be seen differently.
