Football returned to Butarque and, with him, the suffering of the fight for salvation left halfway before confinement. Since then until today, little or nothing has changed the situation of a CD Leganés that returned with defeat (0-2) against a direct rival. A rival, Valladolid, who did not have to tear his clothes too much to extract ground gold from his visit to Madrid.
And it is that the work of those of Javier Aguirre during these three months already staggered from the first moment. In a move with no apparent danger, with a loan back to the goalkeeper, Cuéllar and Awaziem spoke in different languages and Ünal, cleverer than any, translated that lost ball into a goal (0-1). They had barely started both teams and Leganés had already shot himself in the foot.
However, the people of Madrid, did not want to be erased so soon, and quickly took the reins of the game. With timid arrivals and others insufficient, they vaguely threatened Valladolid who, with that unexpected prize, was looking for a second without risking too much. Sergio's men continued to give a good account of his orderly defensive character and were limited to not granting any favors playing as a true Basque pediment.
The fear of error was such that during much of the first half, the center of the field was the only battlefront and the leading role became that of the balls hanging in the area more by trade than by conviction. The goalkeepers were luxury spectators and the forwards, goal workers with hardly any opportunity to connect with the goal. With pucelana victory by the minimum -both for merits and for what the score dictated- it was time to rest.
Second part with spicy to the end
After the respite, the two teams continued to play the same cards with the same result. This time it took Valladolid a bit longer to score, but he did. It was Alcaraz, in the 54 ’, that finished off a center of Óscar Plano dotted by Cuéllar, putting more land in between.
It was then when Aguirre, forced, shook his bench in order to give his team another air and it was noticed, also in the light. The pepineros players put one more march that coincided with the only mistake of the rear from Pucelana, the work of Salisu. The African committed a clear penalty that perfectly transformed Óscar Rodríguez to make him spicy at the end of the match.
The shadow of the draw walked to the end, but Valladolid knew how to tame the final minutes in the same way as it did throughout the match and took, with much officio, a victory that drives him up as much as he sinks to Leganés.
