Valencia leads the national ranking of 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon races

MADRID, 6 Apr. (SportsFinding) –

The Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA) made public this Wednesday the national ranking of asphalt races, a classification that it had not been able to do in the last two years and with prominence for Valencia.

The RFEA recalled that this classification is made with a scale that computes aspects such as the organizational capacity of each test, the age in the RFEA calendar, the number of participants, the sporting level of the competition and that of the participating athletes.

Once these points are added, the classification is established divided into different categories according to their distance (mile, 10km, Half Marathon, Marathon and 100 km), the official score being the average of the last three editions.

In this sense, Valencia leads in three distances, which demonstrates the city’s good commitment to this type of event. Thus, in the 10 km tests, Valencia Ibercaja climbed to first place, accumulating 3,661 points and surpassing the traditional San Silvestre Vallecana (3,237) and Villa de Laredo (1,741).

In addition, the Trinidad Alfonso EDP Valencia Half Marathon is once again the best of all the races in its modality (3,828), with the Barcelona Edreams Mitja Marató very close (3,690), and the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon in third place ( 2,081), same podium as 2019.

Finally, among the 11 marathons included in the classification, one more year the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso EDP leads the ranking with 6,518 points, with a great advantage over the Zurich Barcelona Marathon (1,318) and the EDP Rock and Roll Madrid Marathon (1,318). .

On the other hand, in terms of urban miles, the Berango International Mile (Vizcaya) continues as the best (1,112 points), followed by the Bilbao International Mile (1,072) and the ‘Manuel Pancorbo’ Urban Mile in Jaén (811) , while in the 100 km tests, Cantabria Ciudad de Santander continues to be the ‘queen’ of ultra-distance with 846 points.
