Valencia-IDK, Girona- Estudiantes, Perfumerias-Lointek and Zaragoza-Ferrol, in the quarterfinals of the Queen's Cup

Valencia BC-IDK Euskotren, Spar Girona-Movistar Estudiantes, Perfumerías Avenida-Lointek Gernika and Casademont Zaragoza-Baxi Ferrol are the quarterfinal pairings of the Queen's Cup, which will be played from March 21 to 24 in Huelva, according to This Tuesday, the draw held in the Plenary Hall of the Andalusian city's City Council brought about.

The competition table for the 2024 Queen's Cup has already been formed. Casademont Zaragoza arrives as the current champion and will face a Baxi Ferrol that is ninth in the domestic competition. The winner of this crossing will face the one who does the same at Perfumerías Avenida-Lointek Gernika. Those from Salamanca are the team with the most cup titles (10) and one of the big favorites.

On the other side of the table, Valencia BC appears as the leader of the Regular League, which will face IDK Euskotren. And the winner will face the one who manages to win in the duel between Spar Girona, fourth seed in the tournament, and Movistar Estudiantes.

These two matches will be played on Thursday, March 21, at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively. While the Perfumerias-Lointek and Zaragoza-Ferrol duels will be held on Friday the 22nd, at the same times. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday the 23rd, at 12:00 and 3:00 p.m., and the final, on Sunday the 24th, at 12:30. All matches will be played at the Huelva Carolina Marín Sports Palace.

The president of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), Elisa Aguilar, opened the event in Huelva stating that the Queen's Cup is “basketball in its purest form, with emotion, talent, spectacle and the best players on the court.” “It is a unique opportunity to enjoy our most outstanding internationals, and many of the names that are causing astonishment among fans of our sport around the world,” she highlighted.

“The players, the teams, their coaches, and also the referees, will be the main protagonists of a few days that will transform your city, not only turning it into the focus of women's basketball in Spain, but with the aspiration of leaving a legacy in the city and its inhabitants,” he added.

Aguilar concluded his speech by confessing that he is convinced “that basketball is a tool of transformation that can improve society.” “I am determined that events like this Queen's Cup are key to making Huelva a better place as we move forward,” he concluded.
