MADRID, 19 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Valencia CF announced this Monday that it has reached an agreement to extend the contract of Spanish goalkeeper Jaume Domènech, currently seriously injured, for one more season, until June 30, 2024.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper arrived at the club in the summer of 2013 to play for the subsidiary, VCF Mestalla, and made his debut with the first team at the start of the 2015-2016 season, in which he started due to injuries to Diego Alves and Matt Ryan, but the Brazilian’s recovery and the subsequent arrival of Neto somewhat blocked his way.
Despite this, in the 2018-2019 campaign he was the starting goalkeeper in the Copa del Rey that the ‘che’ club finally conquered, and his presence under the sticks increased in the following two. In the past he was once again a regular substitute for Jasper Cillessen and this time he suffered a serious knee injury in September that kept him out.
At 32 years old, Jaume has been the Copa del Rey champion in 2019, starring in a great individual performance and has worn the Valencia CF shirt in more than a hundred official matches with the first team.
In the process of recovering after the knee injury suffered last September, Valencia CF is proud to be able to announce his continuity.
