Valencia closes its preparation matches with a duel against Cartagena

Valencia will close their preparation games for the next season this Saturday with a duel in Paterna (Valencia) against Cartagena, a team recently promoted to the Second Division.

The team led by Javi Gracia arrives at this event undefeated after having won 1-0 against Castellón, another recently promoted to the silver category, 2-1 against Villarreal, a theoretical direct rival, and after having drawn without goals against Levante, which will be the first team to be measured in the League.

The summer in Valencia has been marked by the departure of some of its most important players, such as Dani Parejo, Francis Coquelin, Rodrigo Moreno or Ferran Torres, and by the absence of signings, something that has led to Gracia using many Academy youth.

The situation could be repeated in this last preparation duel, in which in addition to not being able to count on the injured Toni Lato, Kevin Gameiro and Thiago Correia, the coach will also not be able to have goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, winger José Luis Gayà, central Hugo Guillamón, midfielder Daniel Wass and winger Gonçalo Guedes while being with their national teams.

In front of him he will have a team that a few days ago stood up to Levante (2-1), which has been reinforced with players such as former Valencian player Nacho Gil and has in its squad several players who have passed through the lower categories of the Valencian Academy such as Sergio Ayala and Quim Araujo.
