MADRID, 20 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The General Meeting of Shareholders of Valencia Basket has approved this Friday its accounts for the last 2023/24 season and the budget for the current 2024/25 campaign, having reached 12,150,000 euros as a record amount of income generated by the ‘taronja club ‘.
In the 2022/23 academic year that figure was 11,600,000 euros adding SAD and Fundació València Bàsquet 2000 (L’Alqueria del Basket). “For next season, the forecast of income again and the important contribution of the Patrons cause an increasing budget,” indicated the Valencian entity in a press release.
“At the Meeting, as happens every year, the data that refers only to the SAD (Valencia Basket) has been detailed, so the economic activity derived from L’Alqueria del Basket is not taken into account. With all this, an upward budget for 2024-25 has been approved, which represents an important commitment to continue competing to the maximum in all sporting challenges,” the note noted.
“This is reflected in the first teams. The men’s team increases its net budget to close to 8 million euros, while the women’s net budget exceeds one million euros this season. To these data we would have to add tax expenses from those salaries federation expenses, gross salaries of staff and coaching staff, travel and possible bonuses, obtaining as a result what both teams represent in terms of club cost,” the text added.
The same statement noted that “this sports bet is accompanied by a significant investment in the club’s digitalization process, which seeks to reach the next season’s change at the level of the challenge it represents, offering all its users a leap in quality in all the day-to-day processes.
“With all this, the global budget approved for the 2024/25 season is 27,500,000 euros for the entire club (SAD), which represents an upward trend compared to the 26,610,000 approved for last season, which also includes the bonuses derived from the titles of the women’s team, as well as the investment in improving the remuneration policy of the club’s employees,” the note explained.
“This amount is offset by the continued increase in operating income, growing both in ticketing and merchandising sales, and with the important commitment once again of Patrons Juan Roig and Hortensia Herrero, who keep their enthusiasm in the project, injecting 19,740,000 euros into the budget, for the 18,076,000 euros of the 2023/24 season,” the text of press.
The note highlighted that “another important item that affects the expenditure planned for this season is that derived from aid after the DANA” on October 29. “The club went out of its way to lend the L’Alqueria facility first to the affected people and then to the external military units that traveled to Valencia,” he recalled.
“The contribution of the Patrons has made it possible to help the affected subscribers by assuming half of the payment of their subscription, the sponsors who have suffered the consequences and the ‘taronja’ workers who were also affected. All this and the collaboration with different initiatives, They represent a new expense that will be detailed by the club in the coming weeks,” the note continued.
“The Taronja Family would like to thank all the sponsors who have maintained their commitment, and especially Juan Roig and Hortensia Herrero, for their tireless support and effort so that València continues to enjoy top-level basketball that also takes care of its roots through of L’Alqueria del Basket, an effort that they have kept intact despite all the difficulties experienced. The General Board has ratified the budgets with a representation of 71.81% of the shares,” concluded the statement. the Valencian entity.
