Valencia Basket and Joventut win for the ‘Top 4’

MADRID, 23 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Valencia Basket and Joventut claimed victories this Saturday on matchday 30 of the Endesa League, against Urbas Fuenlabrada (97-79) and Unicaja (76-70), to get to 20 wins and bet on being heads of series in the ‘playoffs’.

Valencia, who mathematically certified their presence in the crossovers for the title, added their twentieth victory, in the tight fight for the ‘Top 4’. The ‘taronja’ team dominated seamlessly from the start at La Fonteta, against ‘Fuenla’ who, with three straight defeats, is again in trouble for salvation.

Van Rossom (16 points), López-Arostegui (18) and Tobey (17 PIR) were the best in Joan Peñarroya’s team. Hanlan, with nine points in the first quarter, launched a very offensive Valencia until the end. Cheatham’s success was not enough for the people of Madrid, who remain at 10 wins.

In addition, Joventut also got to 20, at the expense of a Unicaja team that, after two games against the top teams, woke up from the dream of reaching the ‘Top 8’. ‘La Penya’ struck in the second quarter (27-12), with Willis and Ribas standing out at the end. The team from Malaga returned the set after the break, but fell to the knee against a Joventut team that is also certain of the ‘playoff’.

Meanwhile, UCAM Murcia is running out of steam in its fight for the ‘Top 8′ with its third loss in a row, this Saturday against a Surne Bilbao Basket that is one win away from the Murcians (78-77). The duel was an exchange of blows with a heart attack ending. Ángel Delgado was the best of the Basques (13 points and 12 rebounds), while UCAM had Davis’ final shot to win.

In addition, the Río Breogán moved a little further from the dream of playing those crosses in the year of its promotion, against Casademont Zaragoza (82-85). The hand team achieved its third victory in a row to get 11 and breathe something within the tightness of the fight for permanence. Kilpatrick, with 23 points, was the best.
