Vadillo: “Signing for Celta is an important step in my career”

The extreme Alvaro Vadillo considers that with his signing for him Celtic de Vigo has taken “an important step” in his sports career, after playing the last two seasons in the Pomegranate, with which last year he achieved the classification for the Europa League.

“It is true that I come from a club in which we have had an extraordinary year, but I think signing for him Celtic It's an important step in my career. I am very proud and happy to be part of this great club. I have not yet been able to know in depth what this great institution is, but it is a project that I am sure, sportingly and personally, will make me grow ”, he declared.

After signing his new contract with the Galician entity -until June 2023- together with the president Carlos Mouriño at Headquarters, Vadillo he defined himself as “a winger attached to the wing” who feels “comfortable” playing both on the left and on the right, despite the fact that in recent years he has acted more on the right side.

“My philosophy has always been to go humbly, step by step in each training session and in each game. I hope to help the Celtic this year ”, indicated the Andalusian footballer, who will meet again in Bullets with Santi Mina, Ruben White and Denis Suarez, with whom he coincided in the lower categories of the Spanish team.

Formed in the lower categories of Betis, with which he debuted in LaLiga Santander At just 16 years old, the winger from Cádiz played 63 matches in the highest category of Spanish football, 22 of them in the course that just ended with the Pomegranate – 1,225 minutes of play and three goals-.

“He Celtic it has a high quality squad. Iago Aspas or Nolito are spectacular players, “said Vadillo, who admitted that the injuries he suffered in his early days as a professional footballer have been” a process of maturity that I do not wish for anyone “but from which he learned to value” many things. “
