Uribes: “The Government works slowly, but without pause so that everything works in Spanish football”

MADRID, 23 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, stated that the Government is working “without hurry”, but “without pause” to resolve the situation in the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on the eve of the meeting of the Board of Directors that will analyze possible actions against Pedro Rocha.

“On Saturday we will already be in situation, or it will have to be next week. In any case, we are working slowly, but without pause, doing things well, so that everything works as it should in our Spanish football, which is a great brand Spain and that we must all protect it, take care of it and always project the best image,” he declared.

This is what Rodríguez Uribes said after attending the presentation of the Rugby 7 World Series Final at the CSD, where he avoided commenting on the possible suspension of Pedro Rocha for his actions as head of the RFEF Manager before being elected as president of the organization.

In this sense, Uribes recalled that this Friday is the meeting of the CSD Board of Directors in which the ruling of the Sports Administrative Court (TAD) will be analyzed and that it would not be “prudent” to anticipate “anything.” “I cannot tell you anything in advance, I tell you that, like everything we are doing at this time, we are doing it with our eyes always focused on the best functioning in all areas of the Spanish Football Federation in particular and sport in general. “, said.

The Secretary of State for Sports assured that it is a process “with all the guarantees” on the ethical, image and reputation levels. “That is the will of this Council. We are going to do it with good sense, with legal support, with temperance, without any type of exaggerated approach, but with the determination that things are done well and that we manage to channel the good name and the image of Spanish football,” he indicated.

Uribes stressed that the former national coach Vicente del Bosque is the “ideal person”, “wonderful” and “loved by everyone”, but that they are going to add “more people of recognized prestige” to the Commission for Representation, Supervision and Normalization of the RFEF. “These days we are in that moment of configuration of the commission,” he noted.
