The president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, received this Friday at the CSD headquarters the Representation, Normalization and Supervision Commission, created to protect the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), in addition to to discuss aspects related to the organization of the 2030 World Cup, which is chaired by former national coach Vicente del Bosque.
A commission that, in addition to being chaired by Vicente Del Bosque, has the presence of the executive Francisco Javier García Sanz, the university professor of Economics Elena Martínez Ruiz and the Olympic athlete Aauri Bokesa are the other members of this commission.
Last week, different work sessions were held with FIFA, in which representatives of the three countries involved in the candidacy participated and which included visits in our country to the San Mamés, Anoeta, Camp Nou and Cornellà-El Prat stadiums. . Del Bosque was at the FC Barcelona facilities.
During the meeting held this Friday in the CSD Olympic Hall, the former national coach presented to the Secretary of State for Sports and the other members of the Commission, all of them independent experts of recognized prestige, the main conclusions of that visit.
In addition, Rodríguez Uribes and the members of the Commission addressed issues related to the sporting, economic and social impact that the organization of the 2030 World Cup would have for Spain, the award of which must be confirmed by FIFA at the end of this year. This important event, for whose organization the support of the Government of Spain is necessary, is destined to also transform the sports industry in our country.
The meeting between José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes and the Commission also served to prepare the meeting that its members will hold next week with the RFEF and representatives of the CSD in Las Rozas to continue advancing the work related to the design of the 2030 World Cup bid.
“The Representation, Normalization and Supervision Commission seeks to ensure the adequate design of the 2030 World Cup candidacy, which Spain has promoted together with Portugal and Morocco, is one of the Commission’s tasks,” reported the CSD.
