The young Slovenian point guard Urban Klavzar, 18, will play for UCAM Murcia CB next season and will make his professional debut after leaving Real Madrid’s youth basketball team, where he played a Euroleague game.
“Urban Klavzar, new point guard for UCAM Murcia CB. The 18-year-old Slovenian trained in Real Madrid’s youth academy is in a formation player position and will sign for next season with the option of two more”, confirmed the Murcian club.
At just 17 years old, Klavzar played his first games in the ACB and Euroleague with the Real Madrid shirt -due to an outbreak of coronavirus in the first team-, with whom he signed in the 2018/2019 campaign to reinforce the youth academy. club.
The Slovenian point guard, 1.84 meters tall, was champion of the European tournament ‘Adidas Next Generation’ (Euroleague Junior) 21/22 with Real Madrid, where he averaged 13.1 points, 2.3 assists and a PIR of 10.7.
In 2018 he played the U-16 European Championship with the Slovenian team, being the youngest player in the tournament (14 years old) and being the second highest scorer for his team with 11.9 points and 2.3 assists on average.
