Jesse Lingard will continue one more season at Manchester United. The English international ended his contract on June 30 and was free to negotiate from this Friday with any other club, however, according to information from Sky Sports, the Old Trafford team has decided to extend the link with the player until 2022.
United had a unilateral option to extend the bond with their player for one more course and did not want to wait for the opening of the winter market to activate it.
Lingard, who has barely played this season, sees his contract extended until June 30, 2022.
The decision of the English club is understood from a financial point of view. United do not want to see Lingard leave for free this summer and prefer to renew it to try to get a slice after the season ends.
