Protests that resulted in six police officers injured and a 28-year-old protester arrested. The protests were massive on Sunday, like those of the fateful announcement of the Super League. A week ago, a group of fans entered the sports city of the Red Devils and asked the staff for explanations, until Solskjaer came out to calm down. The crisis that began 16 years ago with the purchase of the club by the Glazer family has reached its zenith this weekend.

Outside Old Trafford they saw multiple banners against the Glazers, as well as shirts and scarves with green and yellow tones, always directed against the American owners because they were the founding colors of the club, in 1878, at Newton Heath. Malcom Glazer bought his first shares in September 2003 and since then it was increasing its power progressively. After his heart attack in 2006, his sons Joel and Ayram took over of a management that came to accumulate a debt of almost 1,000 million euros. In May 2014, Malcom Glazer passed away at the age of 85. Along the way, FC United of Manchester was founded in 2005 by a group of fans of the Old Trafford team with the aim of restoring the club's founding values. At the moment, after several promotions, compete in the seventh division of the English pyramid.

On Monday morning, Manchester United's official fan group, known as MUST (Manchester United Supporters Trust), posted a letter to Joel Glazer in which they explained what happened: “We do not want what happened yesterday at Old Trafford to be something regular, we are fans and we want to support to the team, not to protest in the stadium. What happened was the culmination of sixteen years in which your family has led us into debt and in which we have been pushed aside and ignored “.

After the postponement of the game against Liverpool, the Premier League and the Federation are studying a possible point penalty for Manchester United. According to the regulations, points can be deducted if the club fails to guarantee the safety of the footballers and the coaching staff both at the entrance and at the exit of the stadium.
