MADRID, 15 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Unicaja Málaga has been crowned champion of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup after beating the North American team from the NBA G-League (75-60) in the final played in Singapore on Sunday, thus winning the seventh title in its history.
The Malaga team, current Champions League champions – which they won a few months ago in Belgrade – and who previously defeated Petro de Luanda (94-78) and Al Riyadi Beirut (96-59), thus become the fifth Spanish team to win this trophy, after Real Madrid, Tenerife, Barça and San Pablo Burgos.
Ibon Navarro’s team relied heavily on the work of American center Dylan Osetkowski, who stood out with 15 points, four rebounds and a PIR of 31 and was later chosen as the best player of the tournament, and Spanish center Yankuba Sima, who contributed 13 points and 6 rebounds.
