MADRID, 28 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Spanish centre-back Unai Núñez has become a new Athletic Club player this Wednesday, returning to the team on loan from RC Celta until June 30, with the Biscayans keeping a non-obligatory purchase option, according to the red-and-white club on its website.
Athletic Club and RC Celta have reached an agreement for the loan of centre-back Unai Nuñez until the end of the season, on a loan that includes a non-obligatory purchase option for the defender, who was transferred by the rojiblancos to the club from Vigo last season.
Nuñez strengthens the backline of Ernesto Valverde’s team after having played 76 matches in the two seasons he has been with the Balaídos team. The 27-year-old from Portugalete has already played five seasons in the first team of the red-and-whites, in which he took part in 116 matches (104 as a starter), scoring three goals.
The Lezama-trained centre-back won the 2021 Super Cup at La Cartuja, in which he played in both matches, against Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Unai Nuñez will be under Ernesto Valverde’s orders this Thursday along with the rest of his teammates at Lezama.
