UEFA will allocate 240 million to clubs for loaning players to their teams until Euro 2024

MADRID, 8 Apr. (SportsFinding) –

UEFA has reported this Friday that it will allocate a total of 240 million euros during the 2020-2024 period to clubs that have loaned players to their teams for the Nations League dispute, for qualifying matches for Euro 2024 and for the final phase of it, which will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024.

The UEFA Executive Committee approved on Thursday the criteria for the allocation and distribution of the benefit program for clubs, which, every four years, is based on an amount generated by the final phase of the European Championship and is paid to clubs “that have contributed to the success of all UEFA national team competitions by loaning players out for those matches.

Thus, as explained by the governing body of European football, the amount available for the 2020-24 cycle is 240 million euros, as stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by UEFA and the European Club Association (ECA) in February 2019.

This schedule will cover Nations League matches, Euro 2024 qualifiers and Euro 2024 finals, and the distribution system will remain largely unchanged compared to Euro 2020.

Some 100 million euros will reward the loan of players for the 2020-21 and 2022-23 Nations Leagues, as well as for the qualifying matches for Euro 2024. This represents an increase of 30 million euros compared to Euro 2020 .

In addition, the amount insured for the transfer of players to the final phase of Euro 2024 will be increased from 130 to 140 million euros. After Euro 2020, €200 million was paid out to 697 clubs from the 55 member associations.
