UEFA presents Kai, Ashley and Robyn, the mascots of the Women’s European Championship in England

UEFA presented this Thursday Kai, Ashley and Robyn, the three mascots of the Women’s European Championship which will be played in England from July 6 to 31 this year, with the aim of “doubling the participation of girls and women in football by 2024”.

Before the start of the tournament, Kai, Robyn and Ashley will appear in the metaverse as interactive characters in the game ‘The Road to UEFA Women’s EURO’ on the children’s gaming platform Roblox, and will star in a skills challenge and edutainment series on YouTube alongside Europe’s best female players, which will also be distributed through UEFA’s ‘Football in Schools’ programme.

Together, the three mascots are known as ‘Hat Trick’ and each has a distinct personality and bib number. Kai (number 4) is smart, Captain Ashley (number 7) is strong, and Robyn (number 10) is clever.. They will appear alongside 12 of the biggest names in European football in the YouTube series, including reigning FC Barcelona Player of the Year Alexia Putellas, Arsenal’s Dutch player Vivianne Miedema and local Manchester City star Lucy Bronze. .

“The next biggest players in Europe are out there right now, and The UEFA European Women’s Championship mascot campaign could be the initiative that inspires them to fall in love with the game,” Lucy Bronze stated. “We want to make sure that everyone, everywhere has the opportunity to play football, so it’s exciting that this initiative is being extended to schools across Europe,” she continued.

For his part, Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA’s marketing director, expects the women’s European Championship to be “a record tournament”. “It has the potential to inspire millions of girls and boys to play footballso it is important for us to bring the tournament to the platforms and spaces they occupy,” he explained.

“But of course we want them to play football in real life as well as participate online. We hope that by also putting Europe’s best female players at the center of this campaign alongside our ‘Hat Trick’ mascots, we will give girls and boys all over Europe new heroines to emulate”, settled. The ‘Hat Trick’ campaign supports one of the main objectives of UEFA’s first women’s football strategy‘Time for Action’, to double the participation of girls and women in football by 2024.
