UEFA has opened a disciplinary file to the Russian referee Sergey Lapochkin for the alleged violation of article 11, section 2, letter a) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (RD), and article 12, section 2, letters a) and d) of the RD, as announced by the body through a statement.
The Disciplinary Regulations of UEFA typify in the respective articles:
Art. 11 (2) (a): “Anyone who commits or attempts to commit fraud, active or passive bribery and / or corruption commits an infringement of the general principles of conduct.”
Art. 12 (2) (a): “The integrity of matches and competitions is violated by anyone who acts in a way that could exert an illegal or undue influence on the development or outcome of a match or competition in order to obtain an advantage for himself or for a third”.
Art. 12 (2) (b): “The integrity of matches and competitions is violated by anyone who does not immediately and voluntarily report to UEFA if they are approached in connection with activities intended to unlawfully or improperly influence the development and / or outcome of a match or competition “.
In accordance with article 49 of the RD, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee (CEDB) decided on March 25, 2021, to provisionally ban Sergey Lapochkin from any football-related activity with immediate effect for a duration of 90 days.
