The UD Disaster has settled accounts with him Cartagena after winning by two goals to one, both from penalties, this Saturday at the municipal Can Misses. The Ibizans took revenge for the 5-1 defeat suffered in October at the Cartagonova and added three points that allow them to continue strengthening their permanence and dream of the noble zone of the classification.
The albinegro team added its second consecutive defeat, after losing with Las Palmas (0-2) in the Cartagonova, and ceases to be invincible at home.
Ibiza got ahead of the scoreboard in the first half, converting the first penalty called in favor of the sky-blue team so far this season into a goal. The artificer was Guerrero after a hand by Gastón Silva to repel a shot by Davo, which caused the maximum penalty, WHERE through. Martínez could not counteract Guerrero’s shot, who with a low shot to the left post put the leather against the meshes of the Cartagena goalkeeper.
The meeting had started with the Celestials dominating and pressing up, and with a Cartagena generating few occasions, except for a warning from Rubén Castro, which could be aborted by defenseman Goldar. After the goal, Dauda also tried it down the left wing, with a shot to the far post that saved Domínguez’s hand.
Before passing through the locker room, and already in injury time, Cartagena managed to open the scoreboard after an action of Ruben Castro that caused confusion in the area of the Ibizan goalkeeper, and that Dauda ended up converting a header against the squad.
The second part was a high-intensity duel between both teams in search of undoing the tie.
Finally it was the Ibiza, with a second penalty awarded by the referee, which managed to get on the scoreboard. A foul committed by Alcalá on Castel in the area caused the referee, with some delay, to request a review and to do so he stopped a play by Cartagena. The VAR gave the maximum penalty, which Herrera converted into a goal with a low ball into Martínez’s goal.
The attempts of the black and white team to tie the match did not bear fruit, ending the match in favor of the light blue squad.
With this victory, the Ibizans recover from the last defeat in the field of Almeria (2-0) and return to the path of victory that marked the first days of Paco Jemez at the head of the sky blue squad.
