Tyreek Hill injury: Dolphins star WR returns in third quarter after leaving game vs. Titans with ankle injury

Tyreek Hill got hurt against the Titans and had to leave the game, but he came back in the third quarter.

Hard Rock Stadium let out a combined gasp when Miami Dolphins standout Tyreek Hill got hurt early in Monday night’s football game. Dolphins fans could finally breathe a sigh of relief in the middle of the third quarter.

Hill left the game in the first quarter because of an ankle injury, but he came back for the Dolphins’ second possession of the second half in the middle of the third quarter. More “M-V-P” calls and loud applause from Miami fans welcomed Hill’s return.

The Dolphins had the ball three times but couldn’t score, so they didn’t go after Hill. Inside the 10 yard line in the first quarter, Hill grabbed a short pass and was pulled out of bounds.

He was lying on the ground, but coaches helped him get up. He ran off the field after a short time and didn’t come back when Miami had the ball at the end of the first quarter or the beginning of the second.

Dolphins fans yelled “MVP” at Hill as he walked off the field. Ohio had to punt during the drive, or Tennessee took over from the 14-yard line.

Before the injury, the Dolphins were ahead 7-0 over the Titans. At halftime, they were behind 10–7. Hill didn’t come back in the first half.

A lot of Dolphins players got hurt early in the game against Tennessee. Since losing to the Kansas City Chiefs 21-14 in Frankfurt, Germany, on November 5, Miami (9-3) has taken three straight games.

Connor Williams, the starting center, left the game because he got hurt on Miami’s first drive. Williams has been one of the best centers within the NFL this season. Doctors have lowered him to “out,” which means he can’t come back.

On Monday nights in Week 14, the Dolphins play the Tennessee Titans within a big football game. Don’t forget to restart the page to keep it up to date by scrolling down.

The Dolphins beat the Washington Commanders 45–15 last week. Two long touchdowns by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa or running back Tyreek Hill set the tone.

Hill has 1,481 receiving yards and 12 scores, making him the NFL’s clear leader. He is still trying to break records within head coach Mike McDaniel’s explosive offense.

Raheem Mostert, an experienced running back, ran for 14 scores, which was more than San Francisco star Christian McCaffrey (12). He now leads the NFL in rushing touchdowns. Last week, offensive lineman Austin Jackson, 24, signed a three-year, $36 million contract. This was a big win for him.

With four losses in their last five games, the Titans (4-8) are no longer in the running for the playoffs. After Ryan Tannehill hurt himself early in the season, the team has selected rookie quarterback Will Levis.

Tennessee (formerly Houston) and Miami have played each other 39 times in history, with the Dolphins winning 21 of those games and drawing 18.

The last time these two teams played, on January 2, 2022, the Titans won 34–3. Aside from Hill, a number of other Dolphins players suffered injuries as well during the game.

The starting center, Connor Williams, got hurt on Miami’s first play and had to leave the game.

Wide receivers Jaylen Waddle along with defensive back Xavien Howard also got hurt in the first quarter. Even though there were problems, the Dolphins were ahead early on.

Because he hurt his ankle late in the first quarter, star wide receiver Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins was originally listed to be questionable to play for Week 14’s game toward the Tennessee Titans. Hill had been back in the game, though, in the middle of the third quarter.
