Two investment funds, after the purchase of Palermo and ADO Den Haag

The sale of Newcastle United to a Saudi fund (which is controlled by its crown prince) for 360 million euros has revolutionized football and, more specifically, the Premier League. Nevertheless, more clubs are in negotiations to be acquired: the Italian Palermo and the Dutch Haag ADO.

Palermo president Dario Mirri is in London negotiating the sale of the club to a British investment fund. The manager has confirmed that the talks are underway and that they are also at a decisive stage.

“In this case it is not a single person, but more people who have everything to do great things in Palermo, I have confidence”, Mirri explained to La Repubblica. Regarding investors, the president has also explained that they are “serious people with great economic capacity.” In fact, he has reported that potential buyers have asked him to keep a minority stake, as they “want someone who knows Palermo.”

The team now plays in Serie C after having financial problems that led to bankruptcy. However, Mirri has explained that from the investment fund “they are sure that there are significant profit margins.”

The historic Italian team, through which players like Dybala or Cavani have passed, went bankrupt in 2019 due to defaults. This led him to descend to Serie D (the highest amateur category in Italy) and, in addition, he had to change his name, going from Unione Sportiva Città di Palermo to Palermo Football Club.

Decisive month for ADO Den Haag

Time plays against ADO Den Haag, from the Dutch second division. If the team cannot balance its budget and a guarantee of 5.1 million euros before November 1, KNVB (Royal Netherlands Football Association) will revoke your license and it will cease to be a professional football organization.

That is why the club is in negotiations with ACA Investsments, a Japanese investment fund. A few weeks ago the situation was totally different, and it seemed that the acquisition was not going to take place. However, according to the medium SAW, now it seems that the agreement is closer than expected.

The ADO Den Haag belongs to United Vansen Limited, a Chinese company specialized in the organization of sports competitions at the international level.
