Threatened by the mafia, Amalia of Holland, the first-born of Kings William and Máxima, has lived under maximum police and institutional security. The alarms surrounding her were so high that her parents sent her to Madrid, where she settled for a few months under the tutelage and supervision of the Kings of Spain, very close friends of their Dutch counterparts. The criminal organization that threatened Amalia, 20, is extremely violent and controls part of the global cocaine business. The program On the cover of TVE starts its new season this Tuesday, October 2 with a documentary about this episode (on La 2 at 11:00 p.m.).
Under the title of The power of the Mocro mafia and presented by Lorenzo Milá, the new course of On the Cover begins. Mocro mafia refers to a derogatory term. The organization, which has been operating for ten years in the Netherlands, controls the cocaine market and routes through Rotterdam and Antwerp from where they manage the international business that departs from Latin America to Europe. According to the TVE documentary, the leader of the gang, Ridouan Taghi, sentenced to life imprisonment, threatened the heiress of the House of Orange.
We will also see the turn that the case took when last April the leader of Mocro Mafia, Karim Bouyakhrichan, fled in Malaga after failing to appear in court after being provisionally released by decision of the Provincial Court.
After his escape, the National Court issued a European Arrest and Surrender Order (OEDE) to find the whereabouts of one of the priority objectives of the Netherlands due to the threats against the Royal House and, especially, against the heiress. In fact, it was the reason why Amalia left Amsterdam and went to Madrid. A decision that was made out of the spotlight to preserve the safety of the princess. It was Guillermo himself who revealed in the speech in which he thanked the Kings of Spain for the care and attention they had shown to the young woman during her stay in the capital.
“Last year circumstances caused him to reside in Madrid. And from there he was able to continue his studies at the University of Amsterdam. All of this was possible thanks to the affectionate dedication of a large number of his fellow citizens and their Majesties. It was a moving test of friendship in a difficult period. I want to express my most sincere gratitude to their Majesties,” said the monarch during Felipe VI and Letizia’s trip to Amsterdam.
