Tuchel: “As long as we have a bus for the games, that’s enough”

Chelsea is going through a very difficult moment after the sanction imposed by the British government on Roman Abramovich, the team’s owner until now. That is why, after Chelsea’s 1-3 win against Norwich City, manager Thomas Tuchel was questioned about the future of the club. The German coach did not throw in the towel and left this curious statement: “As long as we have enough shirts and a bus to get to the games, it will be enough.”

strange night: “We don’t feel like that. Sometimes a long schedule helps, it gives you the structure to be safe. Of course there were a lot of distractions, other level distractions with penalties. But our love for the game has helped us. The team has Showed a lot of character.”

Extra pressure on players: “I think they are just relieved by the game. We played a fantastic first half, but in the second half we played as if we were three or four goals up. In the second half the opponent was strong and had nothing to lose. They took the risks and we suffer to adapt”.

Footballers with more determination: “I don’t think anyone needs this to be more motivated. Today was a day on another level of distraction because of the sanctions that have happened. But it has been another day in the office, despite the noise around.”

The chants in favor of Abramovich: “I haven’t heard or understood them. It’s the first time I’ve heard about this so I’d rather not comment.”

Azpilicueta and Pulisic lesions: “Pulisic was not feeling well. He had two bad nights and felt sick, with changes in temperature, so we have decided to leave him at home resting. While Azpilicueta has had stomach problems at rest and we have decided to change him”.

On government limitations: “It would be a lie if I said that I have no doubts but I also have a lot of confidence. In difficult situations we have achieved good results, so we can trust the mentality of our club. Despite the sanctions, as long as we have enough shirts and a bus to get there to the games, we will be there and we will compete hard”.
