Trinidad Alfonso Foundation and Decathlon promote sport in educational centers of the Valencian Community

MADRID, 18 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Trinidad Alfonso Foundation and the Decathlon stores in the Valencian Community have come together to promote the sport in educational centers in the region, with the aim of making some of the most important projects more sustainable.

In this way, both entities ratify their commitment to promote actions that help “to make young people aware of the importance of leading a healthy life”, as well as helping them learn about a wide range of sports in which they can get started.

Decathlon will collaborate on two specific projects: Dia de l’Esport and Esport a l’Escola +1h EF. The first of them will be held on April 4, 2023 and will commemorate the International Day of Physical Activity and Sport.

Every year, the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, through the Esports Day programme, encourage educational centers and towns in Castellón, Valencia and Alicante so that students practice sports that day, regardless of whether or not they have Physical Education class.

Decathlon also joins the Esport a l’Escola +1h EF project, a program through which students from educational centers do one more hour of Physical Education with specialized technicians from 21 Valencian sports federations.

In both cases, Decathlon will be in charge of providing the sports equipment to the participating centers, as well as the specific products necessary for the federations’ technicians to give the sessions in the educational centers.

The director of the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, Juan Miguel Gómez, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement. “From the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation we are encouraging all the institutions and companies to come together and help us in the construction of the Comunitat de l’Esport. We are convinced that this is a path that we must follow accompanied and, how many more colleagues we have “The further we will go. We are proud that Decathlon joins these initiatives, a benchmark company in sports equipment that, with the quality of its product and experience, will achieve maximum satisfaction in centers and federations,” he said.

For his part, Carlos Aguiló, regional director of Decathlon in the Valencian Community, also highlighted the importance of committing to these two projects together with the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation. “For us it represents a great step in our commitment to promote the benefits of sport in schools in the Valencian Community. We are convinced that sport is a fundamental pillar in physical and social development during childhood. And these two projects are a unique opportunity for Valencian children to get to know numerous sports in which to get started”, he said.
