Trincao: “Señor 31 million”, the best goal creator in Portugal

“Señor 31 million”, Francisco Trincao, arrives in Barcelona this week to start training with Pedri and the players on loan by the Barcelona club last season. And he does it with a poster. This same Monday, A Ball, the newspaper that puts that poster of 'Senhor 31 milhoes', crowns him as the top 'official' goal maker in the Portuguese League.

In a classification that has been carried out since the 90s, and whose record includes players like Drulovic, who won it four times; Balakov, Deco, who won the award three times; Quaresma, three others, Reyes, Aimar or James, Trincao is the first with 20.5 points thanks to the eight goals he scored, the six assists, the 15 game actions that ended in a goal and the two penalties he caused. Also an indirect free in a match against Porto.

A Ball raves about the “class” and “irreverence” of a player who has exploded in the second round of the championship and that, if this classification is noticed, he has been the most influential footballer in the Portuguese championship ahead of Otávio (Porto) and Pizzi (Benfica). Trincao is the second Sporting de Braga player to win the award. The previous one was Mossoró, in the 2012-13 season.

Signed in January by Barça for 31 million euros, and with a clause of 500 million, Trincao has already started to give news at the international concert in the 2018 European Under-19, in which Portugal was champion and the footballer scored five goals. Trincao has participated in a third of the 61 goals that Sporting de Braga has scored in the championship and gives the impression that he is coming to Barça to stay, not to end up on loan to another club next season.
