The President of the Government and his family have begun their holiday Easter this Wednesday and they did it with a major scare. The Falcon, presidential plane that took them to Doñana, suffered a breakdown fifteen minutes after taking the flight from Torrejón de Ardoz, in Madrid. The aircraft was flying at more than 9,000 meters high when it suddenly descended 6,000 meters in just minutes, causing the oxygen masks in the passenger cabin to explode.
According to OkDiario, the flight records point to depressurization (loss of pressure in the cabin), since the speed was reduced from 726 kilometers per hour to 462 in just two minutes. This is an emergency situation that can be critical and has forced the pilot to return to Madrid to make an emergency landing. The events took place shortly after 5:00 p.m., when the Falcon was flying over Ciudad Real. The incident has forced to “paralyze takeoffs and landings of Barajas flights with southern configuration.”
Just an hour later, Pedro Sánchez, Begoña Gómez and his two daughters, Carlota and Ainhoathey have boarded again, this time in a spare Falcon, and have headed without incident to their final destination: the palace of Las Marismillas, in Doñana. They landed at the Rota base at 6:53 p.m., where the Civil Guard was waiting to escort them to the center of the natural park. Sources from the Ministry of Defense have assured the aforementioned newspaper that “the Falcons are already very old” and that this is not the first time they have caused a scare of these characteristics.
Luckily, everything has ended in a scare that the Sánchez Gómez family will be able to forget from the tranquility of Las Marismillas, an English colonial-style palace located at the southern end of the Doñana park and which has been part of State Heritage since the 90s. From Felipe González to José María Aznar to Angela Merkel and Tony Blair have stayed here.
The residence has 18 rooms with their respective 18 bathrooms, all named after the typical birds of the area. It has a huge dining room, swimming pool and its own beach.
