The Disciplinary Commission of the FIFA has made a series of decisions regarding the case of the suspension of the qualifying match for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ between Brazil Y Argentina from September 5, 2021.
After a thorough investigation of the various elements of fact and in view of the regulations in force, the Disciplinary Commission of the FIFA has decided that the match will be played again on the date and place decided by the FIFA.
In addition, the Disciplinary Commission of the FIFA It has concluded that the suspension of the meeting responded to various deficiencies in the respective responsibilities and obligations of the parties involved. Therefore, the Disciplinary Commission of the FIFA has also decided:
1. order the Brazilian Football Confederation the payment of a fine amounting to CHF 500,000 as a result of the offenses committed against security and public order.
2. order the Argentine Football Association the payment of a fine amounting to CHF 200,000 as a result of the failure to comply with their obligations with regard to security and public order, the preparations for the match and their participation in it.
3. order respectively the Brazilian Football Confederation and the Argentine Football Association the payment of a fine of CHF 50,000 as a result of the suspension of the match.
4. impose a two (2) international match suspension to each of the Argentine players Emiliano Buendía, Emiliano Martínez, Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero for failing to comply with The return of football: international match protocol.
