Toni Bou recognizes that “it would be nice” to achieve his thirty-fourth world championship at the Madrid X-Trial

The test will take place on November 4 at the Madrid Arena

MADRID, 24 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish driver of the Repsol team Toni Bou confessed that it would be “something nice” to add his thirty-fourth world title in the penultimate round of the X-Trial World Championship, which will be held, for the second consecutive year in Madrid, on November 4 in the Madrid Arena Multipurpose Pavilion.

For Toni Bou, motorcycling is his “passion” and he gets up every day with the “desire” to continue competing. “Winning fuels me to continue with this desire, I will extend it as long as possible. It would be something very nice for us to be able to win the thirty-fourth title, I will have to compete to achieve it,” commented the pilot at the presentation of the X-Trial World Championship from Madrid.

Present at the event, held in the central Plaza de Colón in the capital of Spain, were the CEO of the X Trial of Madrid, Enrique Ceva; the president of the Royal Spanish Motorcycle Federation (RFME), Manuel Casado; the delegate councilor for Sports of the Madrid City Council, Sonia Cea; and the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Community of Madrid, Mariano de Paco.

“We returned to Madrid last year and it was a success and this year we want and believe that we are going to surpass it. Having the best drivers in the world championship here in Madrid I think is a source of pride for the entire city, and what we intend is that this event will consolidate year after year. This year we have changed it from September to November so that there are many more options for the public to come,” declared Enrique Ceva, CEO of the X Trial of Madrid.

Manuel Casado, president of the RFME, has assured that “everyone knows trial” and it is a “spectacle that must be seen to be convinced of the skills that the pilots have.” He has confirmed that, along with the Motocross World Championship, it is the “most important test of the year” and is a way to “bring the public closer” to a sport that he assures they “will enjoy a lot.”

“It is a pride for the city of Madrid to host the 33 world championships and we hope that this is where I get the 34th,” said Sonia Cea.

Mariano de Paco believes that this collaboration will make Madrid an “emblematic and important” place. “This discipline has a large part of sporting effort and another large part of spectacle that is a wonder to see live. Madrid is growing in events, but it is also growing in the public’s taste for witnessing these events,” he concluded.

This scoring event will have six obstacle areas in three stages where the best trials riders will compete for victory. In the 2022 edition, more than 4,500 spectators attended the event. Bou, who at 37 years old has 33 consecutive world titles, is the driver best positioned to win the title.
