MADRID, 3 Apr. (SportsFinding) –
The Spanish rider Toni Bou (Repsol Honda) has achieved his third victory of the season in the third round of the X-Trial World Championship, the Madrid X-Trial, ahead of his new teammate, the Galician Gabriel Marcelli, who was second.
On the return of the World Cup event to the Spanish capital, the multi-world champion began leading the first phase, tied on points with Adam Raga -11- and who he surpassed by time, and with Marcelli close behind, with two more points.
In the second phase, a fall by Marcelli in zone 4 relegated him to fourth position in that round, although it kept him third in the combined classification and he reached the final. In the decisive round, Bou barely scored two points, with a splendid Marcelli who finished with seven to sign his second World Cup podium -after last year’s in Barcelona-, the first wearing Repsol Honda.
With this result, Bou increases his points in the general classification to 65, 23 more than the second classified, and Marcelli is sixth, with 16 points. On Sunday April 10, Barcelona will host the fourth round of the X-Trial World Championship at Sant Jordi.
