Dr. Tomás Fernández Jaén will once again be the head of the Medical Service of the Spanish Paralympic Team at the 2024 Paris Games, while Silvia Mansilla will also once again be the head of the entire expedition, as confirmed this Thursday by the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE). ).
Fernández Jaén will once again direct the Medical Service of the Spanish Paralympic Team after having held this position at the London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. He will lead a team made up of fifteen professionals, including doctors and physiotherapists, who will ensure the health of the athletes both in the 'Spain Clinic' of the Paralympic Village and in the different competition venues.
Dr. Tomás Fernández Jaén is an expert in tendinopathies, muscle and Paralympic sports, and is also head of the Sports Medicine and Traumatology Service at the CEMTRO Clinic, where he is also responsible for teaching and research, as well as secretary of the Medical Commission of the Professional Soccer League. In 2022 he received the cermi.es Award in the Inclusive Sports Action category.
For her part, Silvia Mansilla, current deputy director of the Sports, Financial and Project Areas of the Spanish Paralympic Committee, will once again be in charge of the entire Spanish delegation at the Paris Paralympic Games, as she already did in the Tokyo 2020 editions and that of Beijing Winter 2022.
In the Paralympic Village in Paris, Mansilla will lead an expedition that is expected to be made up of around 230 people, of which about 140 will be athletes and the remaining 90 members of the technical bodies of the different sports, medical teams and organizational staff. .
