Tom Brady changes his mind and does not retire: “My place is still in the field”

MADRID, 14 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Veteran quarterback Tom Brady announced a surprising change of heart a month and a half after ending his NFL career, deciding now to remain active at 44 years old after realizing that his place “is still on the field and not in the stands.”

The best player in the history of American football announced his retirement on February 1, news that broke out a few days before but needed official confirmation. The player’s agent, Don Yee, issued a statement to say that it would be Brady himself who would say the future plan for him in the following days.

So it was, and the NFL once again fired the seven-time Super Bowl champion. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers player thus left his successful career, at the gates of another Super Bowl, after a final recital with a loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the division final.

Now, this Sunday night, a month and a half after the legend retired, Brady wrote on his Twitter his change of heart to return to Tampa and face his 23rd season in the elite. “These last two months I have realized that my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come, but it is not now,” the American player wrote.

“I love my teammates and I love my family who supports me. They make everything possible. I will be back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Work not done yet,” he added. A year ago, Brady added to his legend by leading the Buccaneers to the NFL title in a 31-9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
