Tickets for the women’s Champions League final between Barça and Wolfsburg sold out

MADRID, 15 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Barcelona and Wolfsburg will play the first women’s Champions League final in history in front of a full stadium, after the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) announced the ‘sold out’, with a total of 34,120 tickets sold, for the game on June 3 in Eindhoven.

KNVB General Secretary Gijs de Jong described the packed house at the Philips Stadium as “a fantastic milestone that will last forever.” “Bringing the women’s Champions League final to the Netherlands has been on our wish list for a while. Now we can add that the first sold-out final of this tournament in our country will take place,” he celebrated in statements inside the statement issued.

“We at the KNVB want more girls and women to be enthusiastic about football. With Euro 2017 we have seen what the effect of a major football event on Dutch soil can be. With this in mind, we have recently applied as candidates to organize the 2027 World Cup together with Germany and Belgium,” added the Dutch president.

This season, the women’s Champions League is experiencing a record-breaking edition, as the average attendance at matches exceeds 10,000 people for the first time. The Barça team has played in seven of the ten games with the highest number of spectators in this Champions League.
