“This way we are not going to enter the Champions League”

Jan Oblak He was critical before the cameras of Movistar LaLiga with the performance of Atlético and sent a message that has set off the alarms within the rojiblanco club.

Analysis: “Today we should do the same as the other day, but we gave away the first half and any team knows how to play. If we’re not at our best, it’s difficult to win. We haven’t played a good game. The result is what it is. It’s a very difficult, we must all give more. In this way we will not enter the Champions League. There is little left”.

Disallowed goal: “The VAR has said that it is a foul. We have scored, but the VAR has said that it is a foul, that is what I can tell you”.

Concern: “Alarming for sure it is, because the position is not where we have to be. It is not enough to talk here. We all have to raise the level if we want to enter the Champions League”.

Grandstand whistles: “I haven’t listened to the whistles because I’m sure the whole stadium isn’t happy. I just ask that people trust us. We’re all going to get out of this together because if everyone goes their own way, we’re not going to get out.”

Llorente: “We have to change things”

Oblak says that the sensations are bad.

The feeling is bad, it is very clear. We have to change things, it’s up to us. Thinking about working, turning this situation around and the next game.

How do you explain that there was no reaction?

Football. It is what football has, that any team, if you do not go out with the attitude and ambition that you have to go out, ends up winning the games. I think that in the first half we gave away certain situations, the team didn’t get anything. In the end we have tried, but not in all the games we can come back in the last minutes. There are times that it comes out, but the normal thing is not to get it.

What is the solution?

We’ll have to talk. It’s time to sit down and talk everything. Each one look at the navel, we can all give more, talk about it among all and move it forward, because this team deserves more.

Why is that attitude and ambition lacking?

We too would like to know why. Football is complicated, teams from below arrive and make things difficult for you and it is what it is. We have to change things and that is our job, the coaching staff, among all rowing in the same direction.

What does this Atlético play?

I don’t think I’m here to explain how we play. We are clear about what the coach asks of us and that is what we put into practice. There is a rival ahead and sometimes things go well and other times badly and today they went wrong.
