MADRID, 15 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish women’s soccer team will find out this Monday (6:00 p.m.) their rivals in the group stage of the next Euro Cup, which will be held in Switzerland from July 2 to 27, 2025, in a draw that will be held at the Swiss Tech Convention Center from Lausanne (Switzerland).
The 15 teams – excluding the host, who will go directly to first place in Group A – will be divided into four pots, with the world champion sharing first place with Germany and France. The first two teams in each group will advance to the knockout phase.
As a draw procedure, the teams from Pot 1 will occupy the first positions in the four groups and will be the first balls to be drawn, these selections being accompanied by a member from each of the remaining pots.
Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright and Swiss sports presenter Annette Fetscherin will host the broadcast of the draw and will be assisted by a group of players who have represented their countries in the men’s and women’s European Championships: Spain’s Vero Boquete , the Italian Leonardo Bonucci, the Swiss Lara Dickenmann and Xherdan Shaqiri, the German Sami Khedira, the English Jill Scott, the Swedish Caroline Seger and the French Raphael Varane.
The ceremony will also feature a performance by Swiss artist Stress featuring Karolyn, an appearance by Women’s EURO 2025 mascot Maddli, and the official presentation of the tournament ball.
