This is how LaLiga and FEF rules against COVID: other stadiums, one postponed, 3-0 if not played …

The Federation (RFEF) and LaLiga (LNFP) have met to agree on the rules related to the potential consequences or derived from COVID-19 in the Competition Rules and Bases, which will be submitted for ratification to the RFEF Management Commission and the LNFP delegate commission this Monday.

Both institutions have sent the same press release announcing that “These measures are intended to introduce a safeguard for modifying the competition rules in the event that the circumstances arising from the pandemic so require”. Specifically, some rules are set “to define the alternative stadiums of each team for the cases in which the matches could not be played in their own stadiums.” In this case, the clubs will have until before the second day of the 2020-21 season begins (September 18) to communicate their choice outside their Autonomous Community.

The statement also notes (bold):

– “The rules of minimum authorized players of the first team and of the team as a whole are modified to be able to play the matches”. As AS has learned, the teams must have at least seven players from the first team throughout the game, with the exception of force majeure caused by COVID-19 and in which they are specified in the new regulations. If this minimum number is not reached, the referee will suspend the match and the Competition will decide what to do with that match.

– “The criteria for the postponement of the matches and the competitive consequences are set in the event that they cannot be played.” If the teams cannot have at least 13 players due to the virus to face that match between the players of the first team and their quarry, they cannot move due to sanitary prohibitions, or they have to close their facilities, the postponement will be agreed to a new date as long as that team has not previously postponed another match. That match can be played with five of the first team. In First, each team may postpone a match. And in Second, two. A meeting cannot be postponed in the last eight days. If the match cannot be postponed, whatever the cause, the match will be deemed won by the team that can present itself (3-0), as stated The world this week. If neither of the two teams can appear, the game is considered lost to both.

– “A different model of the play off is agreed in the event that it could not be played by means of the system established in two games”. It would be a final four with two semifinals and a final, all in a single match.

– “The possibility of replacing the members of the coaching staff is fixed and the previous arrival times of the teams to the stadiums are shortened “.

The statement ends like this: “Despite the existence of some differences in criteria between the RFEF and the LNFP in some specific aspects, both parties understand that” at this time an agreement is essential to facilitate the start of the competition. “
