In an effort to banish recent grudges from the locker room Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo, 36, has decided to take a step forward and join a WhatsApp group used by the team’s youngest players, whom he criticized for their lack of attitude in demonstrations that created some controversy.
According to information from The Sun, Ronaldo thus joins the good vibes of the group, in which jokes predominate and which includes players such as Marcus Rashford (24), Anthony Elanga (19), James Garner (20), currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, and Jesse Lingard (29).
Ralf Rangnick, who supported Ronaldo’s explosive ‘anger’ against the younger players and who he said was right to draw their attention, later had to condemn the Portuguese’s anger when he recently decided to substitute him in the match against Brentford.
But a club member revealed to The Sun: “Some of the younger players like to communicate via WhatsApp. They never disconnect their phones and regularly exchange funny jokes and memes and chat about things like computer games, fashion trends and music.”
“Ronaldo is almost twice the age of some of the members of the group and has four children and a pregnant fiancée. His life is very different from that of the youngest who, as he says, have just started.
“Some are a little dazzled by him, but they are very happy that he has joined the group and are delighted that he is messaging everyone and joining. It makes him much more accessible, especially at a time when some of the younger members of the team have struggled with form.”
