This is EP Deportes’ ideal eleven for the group stage of EURO 2024

The Spanish team monopolizes the ideal eleven of Europa Press after the dispute of the first phase of the Euro Cup that is being held in Germany with the presence of Marc Cucurella, Robin Le Normand, Fabián Ruiz and Nico Williams in a team in which there is also two representatives from the host and the surprising Georgia, and one from France, Italy and Austria.

This ideal eleven of the group stage is made up entirely of: Mamardashvili (Georgia), Kimmich (Germany), Calafiori (Italy), Le Normand (Spain), Cucurella (Spain), Kanté (France), Fabián (Spain), Sabitzer (Austria), Musiala (Germany), Nico Williams (Spain) and Mikautadze (Georgia).

Giorgi Mamardashvili (Georgia)

The Georgian goalkeeper of Valencia is without a doubt the best goalkeeper of the Euro Cup so far. His saves (20) have led his team to qualify for the Euro Round of 16 for the first time in its history. He has prevented 3.6 expected goals against and kept a clean sheet in the key match against Portugal. Without a doubt one of the names of the tournament so far.

Joshua Kimmich (Germany)

The German right-back has had a remarkable first phase of the Euro Cup. His associative ability with the ball means that he is very present in the creation of his team, with his arrival at the baseline and additions to the second line finishing being common. He has completed 212 passes of the 231 he has attempted so far, completed five crosses, created nine chances and provided one assist.

Riccardo Calafiori (Italy)

The Italian central defender is one of the great emergences in the championship. His defensive and playing level in these first Euro Cup matches have surprised, especially due to his youth (22 years). The Bologna defender has played all the minutes, making eight clearances, recovering 13 balls, intercepting six passes and winning seven of the nine aerial duels played. Additionally, he assisted Zaccagni in the goal against Croatia and has completed 93% of his passes.

Robin Le Normand (Spain)

The Real Sociedad center back is the head of the Spanish defense. So far, Spain is the only team that has not conceded a goal in the tournament, managing to keep a clean sheet in the three matches played. On an individual level, Le Normand has made seven clearances, recovered six balls, intercepted two passes, blocked a shot and has won 12 duels.

Marc Cucurella (Spain)

He arrived at the European Championship with many doubts about his season at Chelsea, but two games in the first phase were enough to dispel them completely. He is the master and lord of the Spanish left wing. In attack, he has created depth on the wing, making three crosses, creating three chances and completing 53 passes in the opposite half. In defense, he has recovered 10 balls, made seven tackles, intercepted four passes and has won 17 of the 22 duels he has played.

N’Golo Kanté (France)

The French midfielder arrived at the Eurocup with the unknown of knowing if his performance was going to be diminished by playing in the Saudi league. However, they were completely dissipated in the match against Austria, in which he was named MVP. On a defensive level he has been outstanding, recovering 13 balls, intercepting three passes, making seven tackles and winning 12 duels. In addition, he has completed 138 passes with a success rate of 87% and created seven opportunities.

Fabian Ruiz (Spain)

The Spanish midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain has embellished football in the first phase. He has been the helm of the team in the victories against Croatia and Italy, scoring a goal and an assist. Furthermore, he has been the second player who has had the most shots on goal (3), completed 133 passes with a 92% success rate, generated four chances and, in defence, has recovered 21 balls, made three tackles and has won 10 of the 14 duels he has played.

Marcel Sabitzer (Austria)

The Austrian Borussia Dortmund midfielder finished the season in great shape, and at the Euro Cup he is confirming his great physical condition. In a more advanced position than the one he occupies with his club, Sabitzer has shown himself to be one of the most dangerous players in Austria’s attack. He has scored one goal, created four chances, completed 65 passes and crossed six times. Furthermore, he has been very important in the pressure, managing to recover 12 balls, intercepting three passes and winning six of the seven duels he has played on the pitch.

Jamal Musiala (Alemania)

At 21 years old, Jamal Musiala is Germany’s leader in ‘his’ home Euro Cup. His level in the first three competition games has been outstanding. Bayern’s talented attacker has scored two goals and created four chances so far. Furthermore, he is being one of the most unbalanced players in the tournament, having attempted 19 dribbles so far.

Nico Williams (Athletic Club)

The Spanish winger from Athletic Club is being one of the biggest attractions in Spain in the competition. The new style of ‘la Roja’, much faster and more vertical than in the last championships, has benefited the youngest Williams, who went out in the duel against Italy. In the two games he has played, Spain’s ’17’ has made 10 dribbles, finished twice, created five chances and crossed five times.

Georges Mikautadze (Georgia)

Without a doubt the revelation of the Euro Cup. Metz’s Georgian striker is currently the competition’s top scorer, managing to score a goal in each of the three games he has played. Furthermore, Mikautadze has finished five times, provided one assist, created five chances and made seven dribbles.
