Thierno Barry bolsters Villarreal’s forward line

MADRID, 21 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Villarreal CF confirmed on Wednesday a new signing for the squad led by Marcelino García Toral, that of the French-Guinean striker Thierno Barry, who arrives from FC Basel in Switzerland and has signed for the Castellón team for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2029.

The 21-year-old will train with his new teammates on Thursday and is, according to the ‘groguet’ club, “a versatile and tall forward, who makes speed and power his main virtues.” “He plays as a forward, but can also play as an attacker on the right wing or on the left wing with a different foot,” Villarreal explained.

Barry arrives at LaLiga EA Sports after having performed at a high level in the Swiss League where he has scored 20 goals and provided five assists in just 41 games with FC Basel, where he landed in July 2023. In addition, Marcelino García Toral welcomes a striker who is in rhythm as he has scored five goals in the first three games of the Swiss domestic championship.

On the other hand, Villarreal also announced this Wednesday the loan for the remainder of the season of youth team defender Adrià Altimira to CD Leganés, where he will try to gain minutes and experience in LaLiga EA Sports.
