Garra Dembélé, a former soccer player, has made headlines today after having confessed that he used drugs during his time as a footballer. In a documentary broadcast by the newspaper L’Équipe, the native of Genevilliers, who coincided in Clarefontaine with players like Ben Arfa or Ricardo Faty (former Standard), has stated in the audiovisual production of the prestigious French newspaper that they forced him to take 10 pills or else they were fined.
“In Bulgaria, when we finished the Europa League matches, we drank herbal teas. Right after the game, I was taking products that I didn’t know exactly what they were. In Germany, when I was in Freiburg, I had products on my body that were banned in the country. Actually, I was doped and had hormones in my body ”, Dembélé confessed in ‘Broken Fates’, name of the documentary that L’Équipe is broadcasting.
In addition, he added that, in Germany, he continued taking illegal substances: “I had a box with my number on the 11th of arrival. I had to take about ten pills after training. He didn’t even know what it was. I did not know, I did not know it. I had no choice but to take them because otherwise I would be fined. After the games we had on the weekend, when we had doping control, it always fell on me. He urinated, but apparently there was never anything ”.
