There is barely a month left for the Princess of Asturias to begin a new stage in her military trainingLeonor will enter the Naval School of Marín (Pontevedra, Galicia) on August 29 after completing her studies at the Military School of the Army in Zaragoza, and the center is already prepared to receive her. It is not every year that a member of the Royal Family enrolls in its program, so the organization has carried out a considerable improvement in its facilities and services.
The naval school has undergone a reformas reported this Tuesday Confidential Monarchymainly in the students’ dining area, which was already very deteriorated. To do this, the center has acquired 700 chairs and twelve tables with a value amounting to 74,840 euros without VAT.
In addition, they have carried out new hires of qualified staff both in kitchens and in the dining room, mainly waitersas they claim that the material and human resources of the school itself are “insufficient” to proceed with the “subsequent distribution of the rations”. The centre explains that “it is necessary to have the appropriate and sufficient staff for the distribution in the students’ dining room of the breakfasts, lunches and dinners that are prepared in the kitchen on average daily during the school year of 500 students, following in some cases the table service procedure and in others the hot line procedure”. To this must be added the Institutional Events that take place throughout the course, which will be increased with the presence of Princess Leonor.
The tasks of these waiters include preparing tables, serving meals during lunch on weekdays, self-service food delivery for breakfast and dinner on weekdays, cleaning and clearing tables, tidying up the office and work area, serving at formal events and washing dishes and cutlery. The estimated value of this contract is 649,440 euros.
The Princess of Asturias visited on July 16 what will be her new home from August 29, the Naval School of Marin (Pontevedra, Galicia). Leonor will follow in her father’s footsteps and embark on the Navy’s training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano, on which she will embark from Cadiz on a voyage through the Americas starting next January. Upon completion of this training, she will be named second-class midshipman.
The teachings that the midshipmen receive on board the training ship are technical knowledge, practice in the exercise of command, ethical values and the ability to represent SpainIt should be noted that third-year students access this course in their second semester while completing their studies at the Naval Military School, which in this time has refined certain aspects to ensure better teaching.
As was the case in Zaragoza, the Princess of Asturias will have a personalized, “specific, intense and demanding” study plan, with scientific, technical, naval, military and physical components.
