Villarreal president Fernando Roig said after his team’s 1-0 win against Bayern Munich that the German team had “escaped alive” and that his team’s game had been “great”.
“We got through the first half of the tie and we must go there with a cool head and serenity after a game that only lacked one more goal to consider it perfect,” he added.
“I am proud of the team, the coaching staff and the fans for the image given to the whole world. Nobody gave us options and we have completed half the way in a great way. Now we must recover and prepare well for the match in Germany”, he concluded. .
