“They didn’t tell me anything about Getafe, I found out on twitter”

The Uruguayan Sebastian Caceresdefense of America of Mexican soccer, denied this Friday that there is an offer from the Getafe to take him to the Spanish league and assured that he is focused on becoming champion with the Eagles.

“My head is one hundred percent in America because there is nothing concrete. They did not tell me anything about Getafe, the truth is that I found out on Twitter, so if there is nothing concrete I am firm in America thinking only in the title”, affirmed.

In several media there was talk that the team led by Quique Sánchez from Madrid was looking for the center-back, something that the Uruguayan denied.

Cáceres spoke at the presentation of the Free Fire video game as the new sponsor of América and acknowledged that the last tournament in which they were eliminated in the semifinals by Pachuca lacked hierarchy, but that will change in the 2022 Opening.

“I think we have to emphasize being champion because we have lacked hierarchy on the pitch in the important games, but I think that this tournament we have strengthened ourselves to achieve it. We have a great squad with the players who arrived”.

The South American applauded the hiring of Mexican central defender Néstor Araujo, who comes from Celta de Vigo in Spain, as well as that of his compatriot Jonathan Rodríguez. “Jonathan is a very fast player, with a lot of goals, he has had to score him and he is going to contribute a lot to the attack. Néstor is an excellent defender who is going to give us great competence to improve”, he explained.

Miguel Layún, a World Cup player with Mexico in Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018, was also present at the presentation and, like his partner, highlighted the additions of Araujo and Rodríguez to the Águilas.

“America is designed for players of hierarchy to arrive and the arrivals of Néstor and Jonathan are something natural because they come to increase competition and individual performance, that’s why we are very happy with them”, argued Layún.

The former Mexican national team understood the annoyance of the fans due to the lack of titles in the previous tournament. “Bringing renowned players to this squad is not enough for the fans to be calm. The mission is to go out and win every game in this team. America is the rival to beat. The goal is to be champions and nothing else,” he said. .
